Please understand that we are not the only forum that gets these types of intrusions from time to time. It does not appear that we are being singled out as a forum, but rather an apparent target of a random spambot. Unfortunately spam and malicious emails are a way of life on the internet. We are doing everything we can to target the individuals responsible. We've identified various spam registrations. The responsible accounts have been banned and their IP addresses have been blocked. Also, as an additional measure, we are disabling automatic account verification. For the time being, I will be personally validating any new account to filter out the SPAMbots.
